Originally from Pakistan, my family settled in France when I was 10 years old. After studying stylism in Nîmes, I worked many years in Paris. It is in the South of France, in Saint Rémy de Provence, that I today create my clothing line and chose my printed textiles and think over my accessories.

During a journey in India, I met a textile entrepreneur, great defender of the women cause, Mr. Khoker, who since then became my manufacturer. This collaboration led me to work with women and men who make quality products in human-sized production units. My control of the Hindi has allowed me to tie strong links with them, and to guarantee them good working conditions. Beyond my vital need to retie the thread of my own history with India, it is their know-how and rich textile tradition that I admire.

My clothing line reflects my commitment for the freedom of the woman, an active and natural woman. For her, I created a "casual free" style, in a fabric I particularly love, linen. It is a magnificent, ancestral, ecological, fresh and timeless fabric. The colors I work with are inspired by the mineral and natural world: neutrals, shades of grey, a beautiful range of blue and khaki, but also some tonics such as raspberry red or orange.

My collections are all made in small quantities and solely distributed in my shop based here to Saint-Rémy of Provence or via my web site Solinen-Provence.com.
